Coil Shim Install

I was tired of my coil's looking like this but that was the price i had to pay for 5.5 inch coils with a Ford radius arm

I got these things from Sierra Bronco, they are fairly easy to make, but Ron from Sierra Bronco is a hell of a nice guy, buy them from him

First step was removing the tires

Next I lowered the diff all the way to the ground (lowest setting on jack stands) then I used the jack on the front bumper along with some wood to take some of the load off the coil springs. Next I started to UN-bolt the 2 7/16 th bolts from the lower coil spring mount, (an open-end wrench is about the only way)

After I got the bolts off I went to the hardware store and bought 4 7/16 x 3 inch bolts,
I then tired to push the diff down as far as it would go but with the radius arms binding and the driveshaft being to short it would not let it drop down far enough, so I placed a bottle jack in between the radius arm and the frame, this forced it the extra 1 inch I needed to slide it in,

Now the way these go in (I think and hope) is with the big chunk on the bottom with the flat end on the radius arm and the thicker end towards the front, the smaller end then goes on top of everything (not the bolts jackass) with the thick end towards the rear

After that I slapped everything back together and looked at it, my passenger side now sits about 1.5 inches higher, I will do the driver side when I get Coby’s new twister arm. any info needed e-mail ME
