Saginaw Pump in your Fullsize

Ok, first off I did this conversion about 2 years ago so cut me some slack, (email me if you have questions). I have a 88 bronco with a 351

WHY? I first found out the Big bronco Stock P/S system sucked when I went through about 3 pumps because of leakage, noise, poor performance and so on, the final trigger was when I got my Mile Marker Winch, the stock P/S just could not put out the PSI to run this 10,500lbs winch,

Finding the right swap! I started looking at every car that came into my shop (hehehe being a mechanic helps) I noticed full size ford vans had almost the same bracket as ours but used a Sag pump! Yes we have found a donor; I took some measurements of the bracket and it looked like it was a go

Bolting it on! I looked in one junk yard and never found a van to get this from, I got lazy and went to ford and bought the bracket brand new for a 92 Ford E-250 with a 351 and A/C, brand new cost about 45-50 bucks.

PART NUMBERS

Bracket Ford- F4UZ3C511A
Pump Cardone- 20-7944
Pulley Ford- E7UZ3A733C
Hose Gates- 359470
Belt
Goodyear-4060950/6PK2415

After getting this I called up AGR to get a super bad dude Sag pump for the Van, I also bought it with the Reservoir, I bolted this up to the bracket and it fit perfect, so I then took my P/S pulley off my old P/S set up with a Power steering pulley puller, and found the pump shaft size to be different ? another quick trip to ford Dealer and I bought a P/S pulley for 35.00 part number E7UZ3A733C,

Now I started to pull the rest of the junk on my truck (the old P/S setup) I did not have to remove the old pump at all, you can work around it, there were about 6 bolts, some are hidden to! you also have to remove the 4 bolts that mount the A/C compressor to the bracket, these will have to be replaced with longer metric bolts later.

The high-pressure line was not a correct fit. I made a call to winches plus and got an adapter to fit the Bronco High press line, to the Sag box, part number 90-50100. Now, I just needed the adapter because I had a mile marker high pressure line, you might need to but the mile marker line from them and the adapter,

If you do not have the Mile Marker high PSI line the high PSI line from the Van that you got the bracket off will work as well

I also had to buy a new serpentine belt, The part number I used was a Good year 4060950/6PK2415.

I got it all plumbed and filled it with Valvoline synthetic P/S fluid, (AGR recommends) I bled all the air out of it, and refilled it, I now have the quietest Ford P/S that I know of, the wheel is so much easier to turn and the winch will out pull anything, I assume its due to the SUPER P SERIES PUMP A larger cam pack with larger rotor and vanes enables this pump to flow 3.4 gallons per minute and produce 1500PSI Custom ported housing makes for less flow restriction, allowing the pump to run stronger and cooler. The Super Pump, when used with our Super Box will increase the amount of steering force to your tires approximately 65%. Each unit is assembled with all new internal parts and high temperature Hydrogenated Nitrile (HNBR) seals. Then are fully tested to insure trouble free performance. Now AGR says their ford pump will hit 1500PSI as well that Is BS I have never seen one hit over 1200 and that was odd, most are around 800-900 and flow about 1.5-2.0 gallons per min, this is real world testing,

After my P/S box sector shaft went bad for about 4 the time I put a AGR box in there as well, I did not notice a change with that

Good luck with your swap, I love it and all my friends like it too!
