Don, aka Jopey, posted that he was going to head to Hollister, and the trip's list of attendees snowballed from there. Bill, JB, our riders, and myself all got together for a hearty breakfast in Pleasanton. We were on our way down 680 by 9:15 and got in the gate at 10:20. We passed Travis in town, glad that he and his friend were able to make it.
As soon as we were inside the park gate and driving up towards the sand bowl area, Windee pointed out Bill's tire was a little less than vertical. I called to him to stop and our suspicions of a broken ball joint were confirmed.  We pulled out the tools and got to work. It turns out that the 4 bolts attaching the ball joint to the A-arm had sheared off.

We limped the Chevy to the intersection so we didn't block the road, and promptly watched the big black Chevy that passed us at the gates get stuck in his first try through the sandy bottoms.

Locking in the hubs Think we should ask if he wants a tug? Time to get to work

At this point, I was dispatched to town to pick up a new ball joint for Bill. Thankfully, Kragen had one left. On the way there, I saw Chris on Cienega and filled him in. When I got back, everyone was checking out the breakage and lending a tool or a hand. .
Travis' Bronco was looking great on 35" tires and he made some body modifications at the front fenders and cut his bumpers with angles like the ARB bull bumpers.

While I was gone, JB and McFly went to play at the obstacle course. Alex provided the captions for this trip to the obstacle course.
