Makin' waves
After the fun at the mud pit, we headed up the hill to the obstacle course. We parked at the top of the tank trap and hiked down it to see if it was doable. All the mud pits were still there and passable, but the canyon area was severely rutted and eroded. Since we all kinda like semi-straight body panels and paint on them, we decided to stay out of the triple black diamond trail that Mike Niebuerer called "A fourwheeler's nightmare". This from a guy driving a truck with 44"/48" tires and a 700 hp engine.

While we were going through the frame twister, Mark tried to get out of the former tire pit the same way Marty did in January. Unfortunately his attempt ended in breakage also. Instead of a Birfield joint he lost his steering box's sector shaft.

Loading on the tow dolly
To add insult to injury, Bill started winching out Mark by his bumper and the thing just peeled apart like a banana. We had him back out, instead of winching up the hill and it kinda drove itself over. Mark and Bill went into town in search of a tow dolly and hitched up. Graciously, Bill towed Mark's truck the two hours back home and turned around and came back to meet up with us.
